I have known Dr. Kenneth Prewitt since he was 8 years old. His mother, Dr. Lena Prewitt, was the first Black female professor hired at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1970. His father, Moses Prewitt, was the director of Alumni Affairs at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa and one of my two best friends when I desegregated UA's law school in 1970. Today, Kenneth is an American Patriot and the owner and CEO of Serenity Grove, LLC.

The Supreme Court’s Recent Voting Rights Case Clears the Way for “Jim Crow” to Arise from the Grave
On April 29, 2026, in a 6-3 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court held that Louisiana's congressional map, which included a second majority-Black district, was an unconstitutional racial gerrymandering. For all practical purposes, this ruling gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It also clears the way for “Jim Crow” to arise from the grave.
