On December 2, 1975, an unarmed Bernard Whitehurst was summarily executed by Montgomery, Alabama police officer Donnie Foster behind an abandoned house for no justifiable reason. This article is the story of Whitehurst's murder and the police department's unsuccessful effort to cover it up. This story is known as "Alabama's Watergate."
