Donald Watkins began his professional career as a highly capable lawyer. Throughout his 35 year legal career, Watkins has strategically harnessed his immense network of relationships, political activism, financial clout and legal prowess, ultimately channeling it into one of the most successful and diverse global business portfolios ever assembled by a single individual. 

Watkins’ business portfolio boasts three concentrations:   Energy, Aviation, and Finance. While each division is completely different from the others, Watkins has masterfully demonstrated his ability to make all three units work seamlessly together.

In addition to his three primary business concentrations, Watkins acquires and develops new businesses under his private label, Donald V. Watkins, P.C.  Donald V. Watkins, P.C. also serves as Watkins’ corporate offices for research and development, mergers and acquisitions, consultation, and legal services.    

Watkins also owns a real estate development and management firm called First Highland Group, LLC. Among First Highland Group’s real estate holdings is the Alamerica Bank Building, a 39,000 square foot, class A office building located in the heart of the Southside of Birmingham on historic Highland Avenue.

Another organization, Voter News Network (www.voternewsnetwork.com), was founded by Watkins in 2002.  The purpose of this web-based news organization is to disseminate pertinent political and election-related information among independent thinking voters.

In cultivating his business portfolio, Watkins receives his greatest satisfaction from assisting his employees, contractors and others in achieving their own professional and financial benchmarks. Watkins’ motto is simple:
